Panthers crowned as Champions

Last Saturday afternoon a WRU delegation visited the club to present the Panthers squad, coaches and support group with their hard earned national award.

After a very challenging season, which saw the squad have large gaps between fixtures and many injuries test their depth, they overcame all hurdles to claim the WRU WEST WALES LEAGUE and promotion for next season.

During the season they had also got to the WRU Bowl semi final cementing another milestone in their continuing development.

Delyth Summons (District H WRU representative) presented captain Jamie Dufresnoy-John with their winners trophy and commemorative sign, in front of club committee members and supporters, who also congratulated them all on their superb achievement.

During the close season the Panthers are looking to secure the services of a new Head coach to continue the work of departing Head coach Dale Humphreys, who has a new post in Belgium.

The Panthers are celebrating their success by having a masquerade ball at the clubhouse on Saturday evening. They are really looking forward to the huge challenge against better opposition, which will start in September after a thorough pre season of preparation.

The club congratulates both players from the U11s squad, ALFIE SCOURFIELD and CONNOR CRAM on being selected to train with the County squad during the coming season, prior to matches against other Districts.

On Friday evening this week the Directors and Management committee are holding a Volunteers evening, providing hospitality and entertainment to say a huge thank you to all who do so much to make all age groups and club operations on and off the field so efficient.

Pembroke is a thriving community and family orientated club and any child or adult wanting to play is very welcome to come to the club during pre season matches in August to find out more information.

Grant funded refurbishment work in the club’s function room is nearly at an end and the maintenance group are very happy with the end result, which has resulted in a very bright, multi use space with a very large new television screen for match days.
